ABOUT US

Norbèrt van Halderen & Sharon Schoof

Norbèrt has stayed in various places in Japan and gained his knowledge and experience in collaboration with Japanese ink artists in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. He has been practicing the Japanese art for many years, and his creations bring the old Edo style to life. He prefers to work with traditional brushes and makes much of the ink from plants and natural sources. In doing so, he portrays the colourful art of the past. The experience, broad knowledge of materials and his special sense of creation make him a true 'Japanese Ink Painter'.

Sharon, a passionate beekeeper, lives close to the art and beauty of nature. When she discovered Japanese art, her second nature was revealed. The ink artists of the past have become her teachers. She has now developed her own style and applies her art to the traditional Japanese imagination with an eye for detail. It is a pleasure to create while the brushes dance across the paper. Sharon has become a true 'Ukiyo-e artist'.
