De Sitta loopt recht omhoog en omlaag lang de stam.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Een broedend paar zoekt wat oudere brede stamdelen en legt de eieren in een breed opengewerkt gat. Daarna wordt het nest gedeeltelijk dichtgeplakt dicht geplakt met een soort lijm dat de Sitta maakt van klei en speeksel.<\/p>\n De Sitta is bont gekleurd.
